Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Calibration Gas

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) calibration gas from Trigas USA comes in disposable aluminum cylinders with the standard C-10 connection, NIST-traceable with a Certificate of Analysis, and ships from the USA. Choose the concentration your detector's H2S sensor is set for — 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 100, 125, 250 or 1,400 ppm — in a nitrogen or air balance. 25 ppm H2S in nitrogen is the most common bump-test and calibration standard for MSA, BW/Honeywell, Industrial Scientific, RKI, Dräger and Crowcon monitors.

Single-gas H2S cylinders come in three sizes: 34 L (from $108), 58 L (from $156) and 116 L ($210); the 2- to 6-gas mixes that contain H2S are listed here as well. Standard blends carry a ±5% tolerance and a 24-month shelf life; low-ppm blends (5 and 10 ppm) list their own tolerance on each product page. Frequently asked questions

Nitrogen or air balance? Nitrogen balance is the standard for calibrating an H2S sensor on its own. Air balance (20.9% O2) is used when the instrument must see oxygen at the same time or the manufacturer specifies it. Check your detector's manual.

What concentration do I need? The most common H2S calibration point is 25 ppm; some OEMs specify 10, 15 or 40 ppm. Use the concentration printed in your instrument's calibration table.

Which regulator fits these cylinders? Any C-10 regulator. For H2S we recommend the stainless steel fixed flow regulator preset to your monitor's flow rate (commonly 0.5 LPM).
